Chiswick Police Officer Denies Trying to Strangle Woman

A 26-year-old police officer from Chiswick has appeared in court this Monday (25 March) to face charges of assaulting and strangling a woman while he was off-duty.
He was arrested on Saturday and suspended from duty.
PC Mahad Abdalla denied attacking the woman at a hearing at Westminster Magistrates' Court and was released on bail ahead of another hearing at Harrow Crown Court on 24 April.
As a condition of his bail, he must continue to live and sleep at his home in Chiswick and must not make contact with the complainant or visit Finchley. He will be subject to a curfew enforced by an electronic ankle tag.
The officer currently serves with the Territorial Support Group in the North West Basic Command Unit which covers Brent and Harrow.
In 2019, when he was working in the Ealing area as an emergency response officer, he featured in the BBC One observational documentary, ‘The Met: Policing London’.
He became a full-time officer in 2017 having previously worked in retail while he served as a Special Constable.
As well as court proceeding inquiries by the Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards are also ongoing.
