A mass PCR testing event is being held at Brentford Community Stadium on Saturday 19 June from 11.00am-6.00pm.

It is understood that the event was organised after a ‘small but significant’ increase in the number of positive tests in the Brentford and Chiswick areas.

With crowds restricted at the ground since its completion it will provide the first opportunity for many to see inside the new stadium which hosts London Irish rugby club as well as Brentford FC.

The newly promoted football club is supporting the Council's drive to get as many people tested. The prevalence of the Delta Variance of Concern in the area has led to efforts being stepped up to encourage as many people as possible to get tested and receive the vaccine.

Cliff Crown, Brentford FC Chairman, said, “We are delighted to be able to assist and provide a venue for this mass testing event on Saturday. We want to do all we can to stop the spread of Covid-19, the sooner we return to normal, the sooner we can fill our new stadium for the Premier League. We always wanted our stadium to be an asset for the whole community and this is just one way it can be used in the coming years.”

Hounslow Council’s Leader, Cllr Steve Curran, said, “Don’t miss the opportunity to get your PCR test at Brentford FC on Saturday. The only way we can all hope to get back to a more normal way of life is if we keep getting tested and remember ‘hands, face, space’. If you’re celebrating Father’s Day this weekend, then why not come along with Dad on Saturday together and get him tested, too!”

You are advised not to drive to the event and, If you have a smart phone, bring it with you to register upon arrival. Staff on site will be able to help with the registration process if you don’t have a smart phone. No vaccinations will be given at the event. For a list of locations where you can get vaccinated, visit: hounslow.gov.uk/surge. These include the nearby Brentford Fountain Leisure Centre which is also operating on Saturday.
