NHS Workers Thank Falcons Pre-Prep School Boys

Children have been assembling visors and selling bracelets to raise funds

The boys of Falcons Pre-Prep school in Chiswick have been thanked by NHS workers for their help and support.

Along with their families they have been engaged in all sorts of activities over the past few weeks. These initiatives range from making much-needed visors, putting together care packages, selling home-made bracelets to raise money as well as decorating their homes with rainbows to show their support.

They started to construct and assemble visors for Ealing Hospital, following an urgent request from a parent at the school who is part of the ICU team there.

They have been helping meet the shortfall of personal protective equipment (PPE), with pupils across a number of schools collectively creating over 2,000 visors for those working tirelessly throughout the coronavirus outbreak.

Families of both current and past pupils transformed areas of their homes into PPE production lines, ordering in the resources required online and working throughout their spare time in the Easter Holidays to create the vital protective equipment for those who are in critical need. Visors have been donated to frontline health staff at Kingston Hospital, Ealing Hospital’s ICU, Northwick Park and The Royal London Hospital.

Head, Liz McLaughlin, is delighted with the way in which her young students have taken this on board and looked for ways in which they can help others during these challenging times.
