Falling for the hired help may be one of the oldest cliches in the book – but that is what a Sunday Newspaper claims to have happened to Chiswick’s Declan Donnelly. And no not a builder working on his new Strand –on-the-Green bachelor pad, but a waitress at High Road House.

The pint sized pair were said to have hit it off straight away when they met whilst Dec was having drinks with friends at the private member's club in which he owns a share.

A 'close friend' of Dec’s told The Sunday People, "Dec has really taken a shine to her. It's still very early days and they are trying to get to know each other. Dec is very keen - totally smitten in fact.”

However, it would seem that the 'close friend' was not so close after all as the reports have since been proved to be nothing more than a storm in a tea cup.

Perhaps wishful thinking from a well meaning matchmaker?
