As previous Timelord from Chiswick chosen as nation's favourite
The latest favourite with the bookies to become the 14th Doctor is former Arts Ed student Omari Douglas. As the nation celebrated Doctor Who Day on 23 November, the 27-year-old actor, who got his Musical Theatre degree in Chiswick and recently starred in Channel 4' It's A Sin, was placed as the favourite to take over from Jodie Whittaker with odds of 6-5 offered by William Hill. If the Wolverhampton-born actor gets the role, he will be continuing a tradition of connections between the show and Chiswick. William Hill also commissioned research to determine who was the nation's all-time favourite Doctor and Chiswick resident David Tennant came out on top. He was the tenth doctor in the series and the analysis which included the IMDB ratings for each show, had the Scottish-born actor placed ahead of Christopher Eccleston with Jodie Whitaker in fourth place. Other possibilities for the next Doctor include Michael Sheen who starred with David Tennant in the lockdown comedy series Staged film in the actors respective homes. Chiswick has been mentioned in the show several times as the home of the Doctor's former assistant Donna Noble who described herself as the 'best temp in Chiswick'.
