Claire Goose on property prices, gas-guzzling 4x4’s and eating out
In a recent interview with a Sunday newspaper, Chiswick actress Claire Goose was discussing the financial side of her life. Though even if one was not aware that the TV star lived in Chiswick, it would have been easy to guess by her concerns over property prices, her weakness for eating out and the fact that she ‘can’t get shot of her gas-guzzling Freelander even at a knock-down price’. Best known for her appearances in popular TV shows including Casualty and Waking The Dead, Claire owns a three-bedroom Victorian terrace in Chiswick which she bought in 2004 for £410,000 which she now believes is worth around £525,000. “What’s happening now with house prices and mortgage rates is scary,” she told the Sunday Times. She went onto to how the more lucrative TV shows not only ‘saved her bacon during times when she wasn’t working’ it was how she and her husband were able to afford a home in Chiswick and to buy a Land Rover Freelander “which I now can’t sell for love nor money.” “Nobody wants a 4x4 nowadays, which is a bit of a shame. I’m trying to sell it for £9,000. I bought it four years ago for £27,000 brand new. I understand what the government is doing with car-tax changes but it’s sad because I really loved having that car.” Citing her spending weakness as “going out for dinner”, it’s clear to why the Edinburgh born actress feels so at home in W4!
