A project to create a river of purple and yellow crocuses along the side of Acton Green has received a boost from staff from a global law firm.

A team from Clyde & Co joined Abundance London and other local volunteers worked together this week to plant 7,000 crocuses from Fishers Lane to St. Albans Church by South Parade.

This week, the lawyers made short work of planting 3,500 crocus Barr’s Purple and another 3,500 Golden Yellow Mammoths.

Abundance London was also grateful to Ealing Council’s Parks department with whom it works closely, and volunteers Chris Shepherd and Andrew Chipchase for suggesting the planting and overseeing the team.

A few months ago another team from Clyde & Co helped to start the transformation of Abundance's new Church Path garden, where they cleared alkanet and burdock, cut paths, planted pollinator plants, installed bird boxes and a bench. They said they enjoyed it so much that they sent another team.

This site remains committed to providing local community news and public interest journalism.

Articles such as the one above are integral to what we do. We aim to feature as much as possible on local societies, charities based in the area, fundraising efforts by residents, community-based initiatives and even helping people find missing pets.
