A New Face At The Pilot |

Harriet has arrived as new manager
Customers at The Pilot in Wellesley Road may have noticed a new face in the past month. Harriet Teague is the new manager and comes to Chiswick after working in The Antelope in Sloane Square. Originally from Wales, she is a graduate of Durham University which she followed by joining the graduate scheme of Fuller's, learning the trade in several establishments. Her ambitions for her new position include continuing the pub's focus on high-quality food. The Pilot already has a separate dining area which is busy with office workers at lunchtime but turns into a cosy, candle-lit area by night. She likes the fact that The Pilot is still very much a 'community pub' where people gather for Quiz Nights and play chess. "I'm hoping to make use of our lovely outdoor space by making it atmospheric with lots of heaters and blankets so that people can sit outside." Fun events for Hallow'een, Bonfire Night, and Christmas are also on the cards. Another innovation Harriet hopes to introduce is a more 'baby friendly' atmosphere with baby-changing facilities and perhaps a 'cake and coffee' afternoon slot for young mothers. "I love the fact that I'm working only a mile or so away from the Brewery where the beer comes from. We have lots of lager drinkers here but we also have a great wine list which is looked after by Duncan. The Function Room is also popular and has a historical connection with old Chiswick- it consists of converted stables used by the horses who used to pull the drays "I'm settling in now and really enjoying being in Chiswick", she says. http://www.pilot-chiswick.co.uk/ October 19, 2013
