Marie's Corner Shop Gets Reprieve From Closure |

Planning application was withdrawn from Ealing Council
Marie's Store in Cunnington Street which was due for demolition has had a reprieve following the withdrawal of a planning application. On Friday (July 12), the planning application to demolish the corner shop and replace it with flats was listed as 'withdrawn' on Ealing Council's website. Locals had launched a petition to save the shop on the corner of Antrobus Road, saying it had been at the heart of the community for many years. Angie Bray MP and other local councillors had also supported Marie.
Councillor Gary Malcolm said: "It is good news that the application has been withdrawn. The Liberal Democrat councillors hope the developers will not come back with a similar plan in the future as Chiswick needs Marie's Store. She is a great part of our community. We thank all those wonderful residents who filled in the petition." July 12, 2013
