Devonshire Road Street Party Gets Better And Better | ||||||||||||||||||
More shops, more music and more entertainment than ever before this year
Each year we try to improve the day and with each passing year the Devonshire Road Street Party gets better and better if we are to go by the numbers attending or the feedback from the community. With more shops involved than ever before we have more music, more entertainment, more food and more grass a day we can be proud of. We very happy to have KFH Estate Agents as sponsor this year and that’s helped top up the generosity of the businesses that have put their money it to promote themselves, the Road and also say thank you to the people that support them throughout the year. W4 Youth are our charity this year and they will be show casing what they do so we have a dance routine and one of their founding members will be singing for you at 2pm, all the money raised from the Hog Roast will go to W4 Youth as well as monies raised from donations taking by the shops on the day. Mike Moran from Top Hat Cleaners said “We always go for it on these days, we’ll be Rugby (the RWC starts the following Friday) themed including a Kicking Competition for the little ones in conjunction with Chiswick Rugby Club but we’re also giving out Pimms and Popcorn and hopefully get a few donations to the Charity” . We’re joined by Brentford Football Club for some coaching from 1pm and they’ll also be giving away tickets to their games, they’ll be using the AstroTurf by Lazy Lawn, they’ve kindly agreed to give us twice as much as last year too!
We’ll have the Bike Doctor joining us too so if you have any niggles with you bike just bring it down and let them have a look at it for you. We’ve got a wide range of music this year from Rat Pack and Swing through Elvis onto Brazilian and African but also including local bands and soloists, Rony Blue is our own local girl. There is too much to list here so for a fuller list of events, music and shop involvement have a look at the new web site www.devonshireroad.london and follow your favourite shops on twitter or the @devonshireroadw4.
