Inaugural celebration to be held on 14th September

From 10.30am until 4.30pm on Saturday September 14th Devonshire Road will once again host the best fun day in Chiswick. Over 28 shops and businesses have got together to offer a full day of events, special offers and entertainment.
The day features a "cook-off" from the street's restaurants, a "Stiletto race" - and best of all there's an opportunity to soak an estate agent! The Street Party is sponsored by the brave men and women of Kinleigh Folkard & Hayward and while they will be offering face-painting and cup cakes for the kids, they've also agreed to put themselves through a "Soak the Agent" experience to raise donations for the charity Cancer Recovery.
Many other Devonshire Road businesses are fully committed to a great day. Mike Moran of Top Hat Cleaners said "we have managed to encourage the vast majority of businesses to get involved, which is great because it gives the public more to see and do on the day".
The Alice in Wonderland Characters
Posters displayed in participating shops will give a flavour of the day which will include something for the whole family. We start the day at 10.30 with a full line-up of events including street theatre performances of 'The Drastically Reduced Adventures of Alice in Wonderland' and music from 'No Nonsense' and Out of Folkus Ceilidh band. Chiswick Pets will hold an entertaining Dog Agility Competition, Whisk will provide cooking displays, Devonshire Road Nursery will have a craft stall, Big Jims Trims host the popular Hog Roast and Top Hat Cleaners have special reason to celebrate.
Mike Moran said "We're pushing the boat out this year as we are celebrating our 45th anniversary in Chiswick. 45 years is worth noting – same business, same family – so, to mirror the 'Great Gatsby' theme we've got our "Speak-easy Bar". Come say 'hi', and share an illicit drink, or a cup cake and we also have a very special surprise, so look out for that!
The Street Party will also be raising funds for Cancer Recovery, who will host the Stiletto Races in the afternoon, with races for the children, Ladies and one for the Gents too!
Kinleigh, Folkard and Hayward's 'Soak an Agent'
All participating shops will all be doing a little extra on the day, from drinks, food and free samples through to goodie bags and special discounts available on the day, so look out for the Street Party Posters in participating shops. At the Street Party, Quantus will be offering free macaroons and chocolates to all the festival's attendees!
