Lidl Paying Bounty To Find Site in Chiswick
Supermarket company wants public's help to open in the area
Company has already open 23 stores in the UK this year

Discount retailer Lidl has included Chiswick on a list of locations it would like to open a store in and it is prepared to pay a finder's fee for suitable premises.
The company has a target of reaching 1,100 stores across the UK by 2025 and has invested £1.3billion in expansion over the last two years and made Chiswick a target after hearing from residents that they would like Lidl to open in the area.
Ideally they would like a site or around 0.8 acres for a standalone store with car parking and close proximity to public transport. They are willing to consider moving into shopping centres or high street locations.
For anyone who gives them a lead on a new store location in one of their target areas they will pay a fee of either 1.5% of the total freehold purchase price or 10% of first year’s rent for leaseholds, which would equate to £22,500 for a completed £1.5m site purchase
Since the beginning of 2022, Lidl has already opened 23 new stores and this March it became the 6th largest supermarket group in the UK.
Richard Taylor, Chief Development Officer at Lidl GB, said, “We’re opening an average of one new store a week, which is incredible, and our teams have done a phenomenal job of keeping that pace going over the last couple of years. But there are still communities up and down the country that are telling us how much they want – and need - a Lidl store. We work with some of the best people in the industry to identify new sites, but we also know how engaged our future and existing customers are and we want to build on this. Our finder’s fees are, therefore, available to absolutely anyone that can identify a viable option for a new store that we’re not already aware of, and we welcome any suitable suggestions that will help up us to meet our ambitious target of 1,100 stores by the end of 2025.”
