No recycling wine bottles with Borough Wines 'refill' taps
Borough Wines has opened its tenth outlet in London, a branch on Turnham Green Terrace (formerly occupied by fashion boutique Gez) and says it will offer something different from other local wine shops- a wine refill service which will mean an end to recycling wine bottles in your rubbish. Customers can purchase a glass wine bottle for £2.50 and can bring the empty back to Borough Wine for a refill from its selection of six wines (red, white, sparkling and organic) all of which are 'on tap'. The Chiswick branch is the first to offer the organic wine on the refill. A wine refill costs £6.50.
Muriel Chatel, (above) who co-owns the company with Corinna Pyke, grew up in the wine producing region of Bordeaux but says the shop will, in addition to wines from all over the world, also sell spirits and beers (one beer is brewed by their own company in north London). The shop also has some small tables inside and they will
stay open until 10 pm. They will also have a stall at the Chiswick Dog
Show, where they hope to introduce themselves to local people. There is a basement area where they plan to hold wine and beer tastings and Gin events. This can also be hired privately. September 19, 2017 |
