With the school summer holidays right around the corner, local cookery school, Leiths, has released a series of kids and teen cooking experiences for budding masterchefs to help keep those creative brains engaged this summer. There are a range of fun and interactive cooking classes available for young foodies both online and out of the house, with day classes running throughout August at the school and a 6-week online course for flexible at-home learning. With holidays abroad potentially off the cards for most of us this year, cooking can be an entertaining and rewarding social experience for young people and is a great way for them to learn key life skills to support them in their everyday life. From healthy, sustainable cooking to show-stopping cakes and comfort food classics, there is an activity for all tastes and interests. Their newest course ‘Green Kids Cook’ with guest chef and cookbook author Jenny Chandler teaches the cooks of the future how to eat well, look after themselves and the planet too. With plenty of tasty and creative plant focused recipes, the class gives introduction to eco-friendly and sustainable eating for kids aged 9-14.
