The No. 1 destination for your post summer body blitz
The lovely memories of lazy summer days, colourful cocktails and carb-loaded barbecues may be waning but sadly, that might not be the case for the extra bulges that are left in their place. If you're looking for a way to shape up without spending hours in the gym, Chiswick HYPOXI is on hand with a plan: To ensure that by the time the festivities swing into view, you can be feeling and looking slimmer, healthier and more fabulous than ever! WHAT EXACTLY IS HYPOXI? HYPOXI is a targeted method of body shaping developed at the end of the 90's by Dr. Norbert Egger in Salzburg and is now successfully in use in over 50 countries worldwide. It has a unique effect on typical female – but also male – problem areas: persistent fat pads on the stomach, hip, buttocks and thighs, cellulite and weak connective tissue. HOW DOES IT WORK? Chiswick HYPOXI owner, Dorota Zelazny explains, “The most important aspect of successfully reducing body fat is optimal blood circulation in the concerned body areas. This is where the HYPOXI Method is unique. On the one hand, the concerned body areas are systematically put under pressure – achieved with vacuum (based on the principle of cupping) and compression (meaning treatment with positive pressure). And, on the other hand, moderate kinetic exercise stimulates the metabolism. Redundant fat is stimulated and transported via the blood circulation to be burned in the muscles. And not only that: Hypoxi improves the appearance of cellulite and strengthens the dermal and connective tissue.”
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING AN HYPOXI SESSION? Chiswick HYPOXI invited Lifestyle & Wellness journalist and blogger, Lisa from Glowology, to review HYPOXI and here's how she sums up the experience: Then it was out of the ‘wetsuit' and into the Vacunaut which targets stomach and hips. The pressure conditions necessary for the treatment are created in the Vacunaut column and then passed into a specifically designed suit called the PressureSuit. The suit's activation chambers alternately exert positive pressure and negative pressure on the entire stomach and hip region. At the same time, I was carrying out moderate fat burning exercise by cycling on stationary exercise bike. I took note from Dorota that on HYPOXI days, I was to drink only water or herbal teas for two hours after a session and then no carbs for six hours – just protein, fruit and veg. I liked the fact that there was no ‘gimmicky' diet to adhere to but sensible, nutritional advice which helped me take control and kick start my healthy eating habits. A fter 6 weeks of going for an hour HYPOXI session twice a week, I managed to lose 3 centimetres off my waist, 3 centimetres off my stomach, 2 cm off my hips and and 2 cm off each thigh! I wouldn't have believed it myself if I hadn't been in there with Dorota watching her measure me. I also lost a kilogram in weight! The best part for me was that I definitely lost that sluggish, bloated feeling that I started out with and I'm also pleased to say that my skin's texture is also much smoother and feels more toned.” Dorota has had such great feedback from her clients who are men and women of all ages and all walks of life including celebrities, medical professionals and athletes who are happy to testify to the effectiveness of HYPOXI.
