Meet Elliot who at the age of twenty one joined a London-based recruitment start-up. Why recruitment? To pay off his tracking-lynx-in-Yellowstone-adventure debt. He might or might not have exaggerated his skiing abilities when applying…

Elliot flew up the ranks to the Head of the North American Business five years later. First he relocated to Houston, TX (Go Texans!), then to New York City where he head-hunted for BP, Trafigura, Goldman Sachs and Société Generale to name a few, played rugby for the Village Lions and boxed at Brooklyn’s Gleason’s with Juan and Kwame.

Tragic Twist?

In 2015, despite an athletic lifestyle and a NYC white-collar boxing win, Elliot suffered a crippling stroke during a workout at the Cross Fit gym on the Upper West Side. An hour later, Dr. Oxley saved Elliot’s life.

A Stroke of Genius

When Elliot woke up at Mount Sinai’s ICU, he didn’t know he had been operated on, he didn’t know he had been paralysed, he had no idea that the stroke had stolen his speech, too… He recognized one thing somehow – the person holding his hand (his wife, Aleksandra). And that he would recover (okay, two things). Blood, sweat and tears? Bring it on! And boy he did.
