Any new parent can admit to at least one unnecessary purchase that was made in preparation for the birth of their new baby, many of which would have been made on the advice of friends, family or shop assistants.
Each new family’s needs are so unique however, that it takes a great deal of experience, research and impartial advice to be able to predict, with any degree of certainty, what equipment is going to be needed.
Some parents-to-be may have time to research products and shop around but many more simply have no idea what they are going to need to cater for a newborn baby.
Only on a rare occasion will sales assistants be impartial and even then it is unlikely they would have sufficient time to learn enough about a new family’s individual circumstances to advise appropriately. It’s therefore no wonder that new parents can be found wandering wide-eyed around a baby department, only to leave with either nothing or an expensive mistake due to feeling overwhelmed or frustrated by the enormity of choice.
However, help is at hand for local parents as there is now one place they can be certain they’ll be in safe hands. Yvonne, owner of well-known Chiswick children’s store, Pixies, has recently launched a unique advisory service called Baby Talk.
At Pixies, Yvonne has been guiding new parents through the obstacle course of car seats, changing tables, cots and pushchairs for the past 9 years whilst bringing up three of her own children. Now, due to demand, she is offering to bring the Baby Talk advisory service to people's homes. Reassuringly Yvonne’s expert advice is completely impartial.
Through Baby Talk Yvonne cuts out the hassle and aggravation encountered whilst preparing for a new baby by creating a detailed list of vital equipment. To create such a list, Yvonne spends time finding out about individuals and their lifestyles to ensure that purchases are truly compatible with their needs.
At the end of a two to three hour session Yvonne will have been able to ascertain each item of equipment needed to cater for their newborn baby. A detailed list will be created which will include information about where all these items are available for purchase saving an enormous amount of valuable time.
Most importantly however, new parents, and those still in waiting, will have the confidence and peace of mind that they have made the most appropriate choices with no costly mistakes to replace.
