Council Tax For Chiswick Properties | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
How much will the 1.8% increase be for your home?
London boroughs of Hounslow and Ealing have frozen their part of the charge for the coming year. However the rest of the charge is subject to a rise of 1.8 per cent, announced this week by Communities and Local Government Secretary John Denham. A large part of Chiswick falls within the London Borough of Hounslow, including ABC Estate, Glebe Estate, Gunnersbury, Grove Park and Strand-on-the-Green. Most of Bedford Park borders, including Acton Green area between Turnham Green and Chiswick Park are within the London Borough of Ealing. Official statistics show the rise takes the average Band D council tax set by local authorities in England to £1,439 for 2010/11. A regional breakdown of the figures shows that London’s local taxpayers have been the biggest beneficiaries, with average tax rates frozen this year. The average B and D council tax will be £1,309 in London, £1,399 in metropolitan areas and £1,484 in the shires. The total amount billed for council tax is the sum of two separate charges: An amount independently set by the Greater London Authority as an amount that London boroughs will pay (the GLA Precept). An amount set by the council that is needed to cover the local services it delivers on behalf of the community. How much is the council tax for Hounslow? How much is the council tax for Ealing?
