Council receives seasonal windfall | |||||
Auction of council property makes £1,160,000
Hounslow Council received a seasonal windfall this week when an unmodernised council property was sold at auction for £1,160,000. The Airedale Avenue property, divided into two flats over four floors in need of a great deal of restoration, attracted a huge amount of interest in the lead up to the auction. With a guide price of £700,000, buyers hoping to snap up a bargain were sorely disappointed when the strong bidding took the price to over £1 million. The property finally went under the hammer at £1,160,000 to a developer. September saw two properties sold in Airedale Avenue, one for £1,300,000 and the other for £1,350,000. With price tags like these on family houses, it is anticipated that the property will be transformed back to a single dwelling. December 13, 2006 |
