Chiswick
says goodbye to Inspector Nicholls
Chiswick Police will say a fond farewell to Inspector Mike Nicholls this week as he leaves for a new role at Heathrow Airport. Inspector Nicholls has been based in Chiswick for the last three years and has been the main driving force behind the two graffiti clean up days. He was instrumental in the setting up of the Town Centre Forum and the appointment of two additional beat officers to cover the Town Centre. He told us " It is with much sadness that on 17th March I am leaving Chiswick Sector, after almost three years, to take up a new post at Heathrow Airport. I have thoroughly enjoyed my term of office at Chiswick where I have benefited from, and am most grateful for, the support of the local community, police colleagues, the local authority and local councilors. "Much has been achieved, but I had hoped that the proposed CCTV system for Turnham Green Terrace would have been installed before I left. However, I am encouraged by the fact that the funding has been found and that it will hopefully be installed in the near future. "My successor will be Insp Ged Boyer who takes up the new post on 24th March. He is a good choice and I know that he will serve the area well." Inspector Nicholls was well liked by all staff at the police station and will be greatly missed. March 13, 2003 Police chief outlines town centre strategy |
