An opportunity for members of local clubs to train together
A Chiswick Sculling Ladder has being launched to give scullers with a wide range of abilities from the various clubs in the Chiswick area the opportunity to train together on a regular basis. The brainchild of Dov Ohrenstein, who is a member of Quintin Boat Club and Tideway Scullers School, the group meets either at Richmond Lock or the Black Buoy, depending on tides, and then do a piece back to Chiswick Bridge having started in rough order of speed, slowest first. Dov says, "The sessions have already attracted large numbers of scullers with entries from novices to Henley Royal Regatta winners and ex international oarsmen. "It is not a race and no times are recorded but it is a fun and way to develop our sculling skills. The next session is on Sunday 1st May at 9.30 and entry is free." To obtain further information and to register for the ladders go to www.chiswickscullingladder.co.uk.
