Chiswick Junior Rugby Club Celebrating 5th Season
Chiswick Junior Rugby Club is celebrating its 5th season this year with over 100 children playing rugby every weekend and has already played one tournament this season. They’re urging any parents whose children are between 4 and 12 years old who have the half term itch to give them a try for free this Sunday.
The club prides itself on offering a truly authentic rugby experience for boys and girls at all skill levels - from absolute beginners looking to give rugby a try for the first time, through children who already play rugby at school, right up to experienced players who are perhaps looking for a change of club. The club is RFU affiliated and adheres to all RFU game rules and general guidelines.
This is not just a training environment though, all age-appropriate players can soon be representing their club in games against other clubs, as Head of Coaching Simon Hallett explained.
“We field multiple teams, each at appropriate skill levels, which means we enter games and tournaments at exactly the right level for each team. We put a lot of our success down to having small groups for coaching, where each player’s strengths and weaknesses can be developed appropriately”
They are now gearing up for another tournament, the Rosslyn Park Tournament at Kings House sports ground on November 15th. Last season, various age groups competed in several local rugby tournaments, and now have 4 pieces of silverware proudly on display in the clubhouse celebrating their achievements. The club is particularly keen on building up U11 and U12 girls and boys teams.
