Park
Club win battle of the luxury health clubs
Trounce rivals Esporta Riverside in Rugby
Friendly
Astutely
played before the excesses of the festive season, Esporta Riverside challenged
The Park Club to a friendly game of rugby.
Never being ones to shy from a challenge, The Park Club gathered 15 of
the finest male specimens they could find in East Acton and readied themselves
to take on the might of Riverside.
The match report read “The first ten minutes were telling, an onslaught
of Riverside raiding parties being repelled by a brave Park defence. Crunching
tackles knocked them back and a well-deserved first try went to the Park.”
Half time
saw The Park Club ahead by 25 points with the second half being opened
with an avalanche of speed and skill from The Park Club’s Paul Willcocks,
who beat off all comers and followed an arcing course to the try line.
The damage left in his wake set the scene for the rest of the game.
At close of play The Park Club deserved to be the 37 points they were
ahead of Riverside and departed the ground victorious leaving Riverside
a mere 12 months to plan their come back.
