Old Mead's Score Record Seven Seasons at Top of Amateur Tree Amateur Football Combination Premier Division - Old Meadonians 3 Honourable Artillery Company 1
With their fifth consecutive Amateur Football Combination Premier Division Championship sewn up and two games remaining, Old Meadonians added a further six points to their total to put them an impressive twelve points clear of pursuing Bealonians. It is traditional for Meads to blood youngsters from lower sides and this year is no exception as last Wednesday, with four second team players, they avenged their only league defeat of the season by beating visitors to Riverside Lands, Honourable Artillery Company 3-1. On Saturday, away to third placed Parmiterians, a further three players were promoted to run riot and put ten past their rudderless hosts. If two previous championship wins in the Old Boys’ League are added this means that the Old Meadonians have achieved a record seven seasons at the top of the amateur tree in London and are arguably the most successful amateur team in west London.
