Hockey result : Chiswick 2 Maidenhead 1
PHC Chiswick 1st team, who sit on top of the MBBO League Division 1, travelled to Maidenhead on Saturday and expected a tough game against the second placed team. PHC started the game well and held possession for long periods without creating too many chances until the 13th minute when Dan Hall finished off a fine move to put Chiswick in front. Chiswick then put Maidenhead on the back foot with some good moves down the right side of the pitch from Tom Lemaire and Mitch Jaimison which gave Ashley Holman the chance to put Chiswick 2 goals up and half time. Despite Chiswick playing some of their best hockey of the season they started the second half nervously and Maidenhead palyed some good hockey to put Chiswick on the back foot. PHC had to defend a number short corners from the Maidenhead attack which they did well but the pressure eventually told when in the 55th minute Maidenhead scored a goal which the Chiswick defence would have been disapointed to conceed. PHC held on for the last 15 minutes to secure three valuable points and now go into another tough game next week against the new second placed team Eastcote who sit 1 point behind Chiswick.
