Chiswick & Latymer Cricket Club climbs back to the top of division
Chiswick and Latymer Cricket Club climbed back to the top of division 2A of the Thames Valley League, with an excellent win in another high scoring match at Whitton Park. Datchet scored 310-7, built around an impressive 175 not out from Tim Alldis. After a long hot afternoon in the field, the Chiswick batsmen stuck to the task well, and won with eight balls to spare. Skipper Clyde Scott top-scored for Chiswick with a hard hit 94 and was ably supported by Wes Van den Berg 79 and debutant Cesar Hoque (60). Chiswick and Latymer 2nd XI, requiring 263 to win against Teddington Town, chased hard with fine half centuries from Jay Dhillon (66) and Avneet Wadhwa (57), before eventually settling for a draw with two wickets remaining. A fine all round performance from Amrik Bhatia (3-49 and 63) was not enough to see the Chiswick 3rd XI lose to Cove by 43 runs, and another good all round performance, this time by Eversley’s Chris Last (75 and 5-35) saw off the challenge by the Chiswick 4th XI, who lost by 114 runs. In the Sunday Old Boys League Chiswick beat Old Tiffinians by 37 runs, Matti Watton top scoring for Chiswick with 49 and Simon Barnes the pick of the bowlers with 4-28.
