With the acquisition of the Bewleys hotel chain

The family group who own the Chiswick Moran Hotel has confirmed their purchase of the six-strong Bewleys Hotel chain for €500m.

Managing Director Tom Moran said "This is an exceptional opportunity for us to expand our group and further establish our brand across Ireland and the UK."

The acquisition of Bewleys, whose name has been synonymous with Ireland for decades, means the Moran Group now has ten hotels and over 2500 beds in two countries.

The group were recently granted planning permission for a 17 storey hotel on their famous Red Cow site in Dublin.

Financial Director Pat Power said, "This project is still very much on course as is the construction of additional bedrooms on our site adjoining the Chiswick Moran Hotel and the plans to build a new 175 bedroom and conference hotel in Kingston."

It is understood that the Bewleys hotels will be rebranded with the Moran name.
