Cucina becomes latest victim of Acton Lane curse | |||||
As freehold is put up for sale after less than three months of trading
It would appear that an innocent comment on the ChiswickW4.com forum has come true all too soon. When one member wrote "opening a restaurant there seems to be the triumph of hope over experience" about the latest restaurant to take on the tricky Acton Lane site they did so with the hope that their prediction would not materialise. Unfortunately for Cucina it has. The freehold of the fated restaurant site has recently been put up for sale for £2.5 million with central London agents Davis Coffer Lyons. The agent's details describe the property as being "located on Acton Lane just a stone's throw away from Chiswick Park station and benefits from being positioned on a prominent corner. The property is positioned in this popular area benefiting from both a large residential and commercial catchment. Other operators in close proximity include La Tasca, Zizzi, Pizza Express, Garni's to name but a few." For those who are yet to visit one of the many incarnations that have occupied the site over the years, the property is accommodated over two floors with a large area on the ground floor accommodating approximately 100 covers. The freehold is being sold with vacant possession. November 23, 2006
