Home cooked food in a stylish dining room at Rendezvous Restaurant
Rendezvous Restaurant is the perfect place for a romantic meal for two, or a celebration between friends and family. It’s a little taste of Persia in the heart of Chiswick, close to the banks of the river Thames in West London. Opened in early 2019, the restaurant is a family affair that celebrates the Persian art of a delicious meal shared with loved ones. The restaurant Rendezvous serves home cooked food in a stylish and welcoming dining room seating 80 people, with a separate late-night bar for anyone who wants to keep their evening going with a range of cocktails made by skilled bar staff. On Fridays and Saturdays, Rendezvous features live music from talented singers performing a range of music from around the world. The food at Rendezvous is influenced by many cultures, thanks to Persia’s location on the Silk Road in what is now Iran. Locally grown fruits and nuts of the highest quality were traded for rice and turmeric from India, tomatoes from the Ottoman Empire, feta from Greece and saffron from Crete. Persian cuisine combines these flavours and ingredients to make something truly unique.
The food Rendezvous specialises in authentic Persian dishes, with a hint of the modern, and uses local and seasonal produce, so the menu changes regularly and always has a few surprises. Starters and side dishes include Koo koo Sabzi, a frittata of parsley, coriander, dill, fenugreek, barberries and walnuts and dolmeh felfel, a bell pepper filled with rice, split peas, chopped fresh herbs, all cooked in spices and tomato sauce. All starters and sides are served with delicious, freshly baked bread. For main dishes, you can choose from a mouth-watering selection of traditional stews, rice dishes and kebabs. Warm yourself with fesenjoone ordak, a confit duck leg with a sauce of ground walnuts and pomegranate puree, and pair it with the refreshing taste of sabzi polo, rice cooked with coriander, dill, chives and parsley.
The kebabs at Rendezvous follow traditional recipes and techniques. Using a charcoal grill, you can enjoy succulent baby chicken marinated in onion, lemon juice, saffron and olive oil (joojeh ba ostokhoon); loin of lamb, thinly sliced, marinated in onion juice (barg), and monkfish in a citrus marinade (mahee). Persian cuisine is varied and inclusive, with dishes to suit the tastes of vegetarians and vegans, and Rendezvous can cater to all allergies. Rendezvous can also deliver to your home, so if you’re hosting friends or want an extra-special week-night treat, call and order directly with the team, or find the restaurant on Deliveroo and Uber Eats.
