Chiswick is to be one of the venues for celebrity chef Tom Kerridge’s food and music festival, Pub in the Park next year.

The event attracts award winning chefs, as well as headline acts, for example, this year's line up at other venues included Will Young, Jamie Cullum, Texas, Razorlight, Melanie C and Squeeze.

The Pub in the Park in Chiswick is scheduled for 6-8 September 2019.

Michelin-star chef Tom, (pictured above) made his name with his Buckinghamshire pub, The Hand and Flowers, which he opened in 2005. It is the only British pub with two Michelin stars. He also owns a London restaurant, (in The Corinthia hotel) two other pubs, and a catering business.

The organisers describe Pub In The Park as "essentially a lovely day out for food and music lovers, families, couples and groups of friends, with pop-up award-winning pubs serving their food (including Tom’s The Hand & Flowers) and some great headliners in the evening."

As well as live music, there will be chef demonstrations, and shopping. There will be providers of kitchenware, houseware and other lifestyle products to browse buy at the festival.

Other venues in 2018 were Marlow, Tunbridge Wells, Bath and Knutsford. A spokeswoman told Chiswickw4.com that they were very excited about bringing the event to Chiswick and hope that local residents will come along and enjoy the festival.

While planning is still in the early stages, people can sign up to the newsletter to get up to date information and access to the preview sale, for which tickets will be released one day ahead of the public sale.

Gloucester-raised Tom can be heard on BBC Radio Four's Desert Island Discs (interviewed by Lauren Laverne) where he talks about how he started work at the age of 18 in restaurant kitchens. He talks about the highs and low of being a top chef and tells of how he developed an alcohol dependancy and how it contributed to his weight gain. Tom also paid tribute to his wife Beth, a sculptor who gave up her career for some time to join her husband in the food business.
