Quirky 'secret' bar on prohibition theme failed to dispense the right 'medicine'
The 1920’s prohibition-style bar, 'Pharmacy' in Devonshire Road, has closed. The quirky bar was opened over a year ago on the site of former restaurant Indian Cardamon, by Evans & Peel, who have a 'Detective' Bar in Earl's Court. The Chiswick bar had a secret entrance fronted by a pharmacy sign and customers had to ring the doorbell and be given a secret password before being allowed through to a dimly-lit interior. The interior had vintage furniture, antique surgical equipment and secret drawers located within the It served a variety of cocktails with medicinal themes.
American-inspired snacks such as Grilled Cheese Sandwiches came served
in a cigar box with smoke coming out of the side of the box. We are trying to find out the reason for the closure
and will report back. October 14, 2018
