The Turkish lamp shop on Chiswick High Road, which become Mosaic, a cafe selling Turkish food, has been the subject of an Enforcement Order by Hounslow Council.

The cafe was serving Turkish mezze food, pastries, coffee and savoury dishes. The Turkish lamps and plates which had been for sale when it was the Bazaar lamp shop formed part of the new decor.

The owner had also intended to apply for an alcohol licence so that he could expand into serving food in the evenings.

However the premises appeared to have closed recently.

Hounslow Council have issued a notice that enforcement is to be undertaken.

It said the breach was "an unauthorised change of use of the property from A1 use (retail) to an A3 use ( cafe)."

Remedial action required that the use of the ground flood as a cafe cease and it revert back to retail use.

The reasoning given was lLoss of A1 unit, the mpact on the opening of the neighbouring properties, the Impact of storage and handling of waste associated with the unauthorised use.

We have been unable to contact the owner of the shop/cafe for comment but will report back if we do so.
