Concern Over The Future Of Jackson + Rye |

As parent company admits it is considering changes to several branches
There appears to be uncertainty over the future of the local branch of Jackson + Rye following the news that its parent company is planning to consider "a range of options" for some of its restaurants. The chain which serves American inspired food, is owned by Cote, which is owned by private equity group BC Partners. Cote also took over the Limeyard brand in 2016. Cote is performing well and not under threat. However, there is continuing deterioration in the 'casual dining' sector across High streets, with closures of restaurants in other chains such as Byron Burgers and Jamie's Italian restaurants. Jackson + Rye has already closed some of its branches. Earlier this year it closed in Guildford and Kingston and pulled out of opening a restaurant in Birmingham. Côte said in a statement: "As a result of recent and well documented headwinds for the restaurant sector we have taken the decision to explore a range of options for a very small number of Jackson + Rye and Limeyard restaurants. "In some instances we have closed or sold outlets and we are working hard to find viable options for others while continuing to support those that are trading well." "Our Cote restaurants continue to perform well, which is a testament to the strength of that offer in what remains a very challenging environment." At this point the company has not announced which branches of Jackson + Rye are under threat so it is unclear what this means for Chiswick. At present there are three other London branches, in Soho, Bank and Richmond. The brand was set up in 2013 as part of the Richard Caring stable.
