"Simple freshly prepared French food at value for money prices" is the concept behind Cote, the company who have submitted an application to Hounslow Council for a licence to operate a new restaurant on the former Texas Lone Star site.

The Turnham Green Terrace property continues to generate a great deal of interest in Chiswick, interest that evidently hasn't been missed by Cote directors Andy Bassadone and Chris Benians.

After Bassadone and Benians sold their previous venture Strada to Tragus for a reported £140m, they opened their first Côte site backed by Richard Caring, who owns a sizeable stake in the Soho House Group, in 2007 in Wimbledon. Cambridge, Kensington, Covent Garden, Richmond, Guildford, Soho, Hays Galleria, St Albans and Horsham followed.

The company website states, "Our inspiration for the food and design comes from a modern interpretation of the many famous bistros that populate Paris. There has been a resurgence of interest in simple bistro cooking in Paris as locals turn away from expensive and over complicated cooking in formal restaurants to return to the basics of French cuisine.

"Our menu always offers classics dishes such as steak frites, moules marinieres, corn fed chicken from Languidic in the heart of rural Brittany, alongside lighter dishes such as pan roasted salmon with basil potato puree and a tomato and garlic dressing. Crème caramel and crème brulee are house specialities for dessert.

"Open all day for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Côte also offers regular changing seasonal specials. Our atmosphere is informal and friendly."
