Plan to open new restaurant at Kitchen and Pantry site
The long disused former premises of Kitchen and Pantry look set to be brought back into use. An application has been submitted to Hounslow Council for the site at 216-218 Chiswick High Road relating to a new restaurant called Mali’s. The company which ran Kitchen and Pantry went into liquidation in 2016 but continued to trade at the location until August 2019. Since then, the prime site near Waterstones and Marks and Spencer has been vacant. The 1,376 sq ft site was advertised earlier this year with the particulars saying that the rent had been £143,500 per annum. The council planning department has now received an application (P/2022/2399) for the replacement of shopfront glazing including the installation of opening bi-folding shopfront doors, redecoration of shopfront with signs and a new awning. Designs submitted with the application indicate that the new business will be a restaurant called Mali’s but no further details are given as to what kind of food it will serve. Documents presentedshow that it is hoped to start work on the site this month and that building works should be completed by October.
The application has been made by Homayoun Fahimipour, who is the proprietor of nearby Nikki’s Bakery. We have contacted him to ask for more details about the plans.
