Clayton Hotel Becomes Venue For Couples To Say 'I Do' | |||||
The only hotel in Chiswick with permission for people to exchange wedding vows
The Clayton Hotel, Chiswick (formerly the Moran Hotel ) is now licensed for marriages to be officiated on the premises. Couples can officially say 'I Do', have their photographs taken, then carry on with the reception without having to leave the building. The hotel, which was bought by hotel operator Dalata last year, is promoting itself as a venue for weddings, following the completion of its £20m extension of 81 new bedrooms and a large ballroom. Although the hotel was recently granted a licence to allow marriages to be performed on the premises, for legal reasons, the marrying couple will still have to organise an official Registrar themselves to come to the venue to perform the ceremony. The hotel will offer an onsite wedding coordinator, and a wedding decorator. They are also promoting the roof garden for photographs and special bespoke gourmet menus for the celebration. The 'Chiswick Ballroom' boasts an abundance of natural light with enormous windows, a separate entrance, foyer and bar. It also has a purpose-built dance floor. At the moment there are six weddings booked for the hotel, the biggest is for 200 guests and the smallest for sixty guests. But as yet, no weddings have been officiated on the premises. The hotel now says it can accommodate up to 400 people in ten purpose-built meeting/function rooms. It is also upgrading its restaurant. Dalata currently owns the Maldron mid-price hotel chain in Ireland. Dalata was founded in 2007 by Pat McCann, previously chief executive of Jurys Doyle Hotel Group, and currently operates 38 hotels with almost 6,000 bedrooms.
A view of the Chiswick Moran with the planned extension The Chiswick Moran hotel had benefited from its proximity to the Chiswick Business Park, and it was also popular with rugby teams and supporters. However, the extension, which was started before the hotel was bought by Dalata, gives the hotel the capacity to move forward into the wedding, corporate, and events market. February 26, 2016
