Caffè, restaurant and foodshop re-opens with new interior, new management and bursting with Italian freshness

On Wednesday 6th May, Carluccio’s opened its newly-refurbished doors to invite neighbourhood friends and families in to enjoy its new look.

The authentic caffè, restaurant and foodshop re-opens with a brand new interior, new management team and is bursting with Italian freshness.

Regulars will notice a warmer, softer feel in the restaurant incorporating dark wood tables, upholstered booth seats and contemporary chairs. A new monthly-changing evening menu has been introduced to ensure locals never tire of dining at their favourite caffè.

The foodshop now features an elegant marble display, which showcases a fantastic array of Carluccio’s products, giving the area a more rustic feel.

To celebrate its brand new look, Carluccio’s in Chiswick is hosting a series of ‘Eventi per Tutti’ to make this summer even more special.

PASTA & PESTO COOKING DEMONSTRATION
Wednesday 20th May 6.30pm – 8.30pm

On Wednesday 20th May, learn to cook real pasta and pesto the Italian way at this fun and informal cooking demonstration.

Italian food expert Valentina Daprile will prepare fresh egg pasta and teach you how to make a range of shapes with the dough, while you enjoy a glass of fine Italian wine. Participants will then learn how to make a variety of different types of fresh pesto, all using seasonal ingredients.

At the end of the session, you'll be able to recreate this classic Italian meal at home for friends or family and you'll even receive a Carluccio's goody bag, which includes a bottle of basil oil and a grow-your-own basil pack.

WINE TASTINGS
Thursdays from 6pm, between 11th June and 30th July

As part of their summer celebration of the wonderful wines of Sicily, Carluccio’s invites wine lovers to enjoy a series of complimentary tastings, held from 6pm, on Thursdays throughout June and July.

Visitors can sample their way through a selection of delicious and award-winning wines, not available anywhere else in the UK, including the delicate citrus flavoured Feudo Dei Fiori 2008 IGT Sicilia and the intense and spicy Bonera 2007 IGT Sicilia.

If a particular note strikes a chord, you can pick up a bottle of anything you enjoy at Carluccio's foodshop or enjoy over dinner with a friend in the restaurant. Favourite pasta dishes include penne giardiniera (Pugliese penne with courgette, chilli and deep fried spinach balls with parmesan and garlic) and lasagna tradizionale (layers of egg pasta with tomato, ground beef and lamb and béchamel sauce).

PASTA AND SAUCE TASTINGS
Friday 19th June, 10am – 4pm

On Friday 19th June, join Italian food expert Valentina Daprile for this free, fun and informal day of pasta and sauce tastings. Valentina will be creating freshly-prepared dishes in the newly-refurbished deli, exploring different Italian pasta and sauce combinations and showing hungry shoppers how best to dress a variety of pasta shapes.

Sample some of Carluccio's classic pasta dishes topped with favourite sauces including wild boar ragu and fettucine, pesto and trofie, and bavetti with walnut sauce. Valentina will be on hand to answer any questions guests have about any of the products on offer at the Carluccio’s deli, many of which are sourced directly from Italy.

The complimentary pasta and sauce tasting will take place between 10am-4pm on Friday 19th June. Booking is not necessary, just drop into the caffè.

WINE DINNER
Thursday 9th July from 7.30pm

This summer event is a must for Italian fine dining and drinking aficionados.

Forming part of Carluccio’s summer celebration of the wonderful wines of Sicily, guests will be greeted by prosecco and beautifully-crafted canapés on arrival, before sitting down to a leisurely four-course dinner. Each course will then be accompanied by a specially-selected Sicilian wine, introduced by Carluccio’s very own wine expert.

Before taking their carriages, guests will have the chance to purchase a case of their favourite wine, offered at an exclusive discounted price for one night only.
