W4 Youth event included live music and a 5-a-side competition
May 23, 2023 There was lots of support from residents this Saturday (20 May) for an event to showcase the launch of a new community hub in Southfield Recreation Ground. The W4 Youth Tea Party in the Park featured live music, a five-a-side football competition and tea and cakes which were donated by parents and neighbours of the park. From 2.30pm onwards a football tournament organised by Rocks Lane took place which was won by Rocks Lane U12s with Grove Park Rangers finishing second. During the rest of the afternoon there was live music provided by locally based singers Alichė & Erire. The W4 Youth Trustees were on hand to explain to people at the party what the plans were for the new permanent Youth & Community Centre on the western edge of the park. These included W4 Youth Founder and Chair Sally Chacatté and local ward councillor Gary Malcolm.
Sally Chacatté, W4 Youth Founder and Chair, said, “Thank you to everyone who came along to our W4 Youth Tea Party in the Park and especially to Rocks Lane Chiswick for the 5-a-side tournament they organised in aid of our charity and Aliche and Erire for their wonderful performances. We’ll be sharing our opening date for activities soon.”
Member of the group will also be participating on Green Days on 11 June. You can donate to the W4 Youth's fundraising effort online.
