St. Michael's Appeal helped by two local photographers
A local charity calendar created by two Chiswick photographers has raised more than £800 for the Organ Appeal at St Michael & All Angels Church, Bedford Park. The new organ at St Michael & All Angels will be arriving shortly from its manufacturers in Switzerland, and will then be assembled on site. It will played publicly for the first time at a service in the autumn. The Chiswick Calendar 2013 features scenes across W4, including Bedford Park, Chiswick High Road, Strand-on-the-Green, Chiswick House, Turnham Green and Grove Park. It was produced by Ian Wylie and Jon Perry, who donated their time and photographs for free. Father Kevin Morris, the vicar of St Michael & All Angels, said “Almost 250 calendars were sold altogether, giving a profit of just over £800 for our Organ & Parish Rooms Appeal. We’re absolutely delighted and very grateful to Jon and Ian for their hard work and generosity, and to John and Anthony at Snappy Snaps – and all the outlets around Chiswick that kindly put the calendars on sale.” The calendars were printed by Snappy Snaps on Chiswick High Road, and sold at Fosters’ Bookshop, Sam’s Brasserie, Chiswick Computers, Party Plus, Clip Hairdressing, Top Hat Cleaners, the Cards for Good Causes shop in Christ Church Turnham Green, West 4 Gym, the Green Trading Company and Laveli Bakery - as well as St Michael & All Angels itself, on Green Days, during the Chiswick Book Festival and at its Cards for Good Causes shop. Ian Wylie said: "The aim of this project was to celebrate Chiswick - a part of the world we all love - while also raising money for a local good cause. Jon and I would like to thank all the local community - spirited businesses and everyone else involved for their goodwill and help in making this happen."
