Flats Development Over Wickes Likely To Be Refused |

Developer wanted seven self-contained flats in total
A proposal to have seven self-contained flats over the current Wickes kitchen showroom looks likely to be refused by Hounslow Council. The application, for 492-496 Chiswick High Road, proposed adding an extra storey by extending into the loft space to create four residential units, and reconfiguring the current space first-floor space where there are currently three flats. But Hounslow Council planning department's report says that "the overall bulk and massing would adversely impact on the visual amenity of the area of this particular stretch of Chiswick High Road." Planning officers also believe that the proposed development would give rise to potential amenity issues to the properties situated towards the rear of Chiswick High Road.
