The charity Shooting Star Chase, which raises money for hospices caring for children with cancer, is to open a shop in the former Whisk cookery and gift shop premises on Devonshire Road.

The cook shop closed on June 3rd after thirteen years in Chiswick and efforts by owner Tracey Kynoch to retain the business as a going concern were unsuccessful.

Shooting Star Chase is the first charity shop to move into Devonshire Road, although there are several other charity shops on Turnham Green Terrace and along Chiswick High Road.

Shooting Star Chase raises money for children's hospices, which care for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions. The charity provides care free of charge which costs £10 million annually.

The premises are currently being refurbished. A poster in the window is asking for local volunteers to help run the shop and also for donations to help stock the shop.

You can phone 07817334140 to find out how to donate before the shop opening, or you can email volunteers@shootingstarchase.org.uk
