A new Vietnamese deli and cafe is to open next week.

The business is the brain-child of local Chiswick resident Kevin Huynh and his wife Amanda and is located in a former dentist's office, beside RH Carpets. The couple say they hope to bring the traditional feel of a Vietnamese home to Chiswick.

The cafe, Ngon (which translates as 'delicious') will serve classic Vietnamese fare such as 'Pho' noodle soups, Vietnamese coffees and baguettes filled with cold meats, pickles, vegetables and coriander. They also plan to have hot dishes such as chargrilled pork, beef casseroles and Vietnamese chicken curry.

"We've lived in Chiswick and love the area. Vietnamese food is very popular in east London where there are lots of restaurants and we felt it was time to bring this style of cooking to West London now", says Kevin, who was brought up in London but whose parents are from Vietnam. Both Kevin and Amanda worked in the hospitality industry.

They plan to open seven days from 10am until late, catering for the casual diner or takeaway lunch market, with food also available in the evenings. The front of the cafe will have low tables to give a traditional Vietnamese feel while the back of the restaurant will have tabled seating for up to 28 diners.

"Our decor will be that of a traditional Vietnamese home and we hope people will enjoy the experience", he said.

Ngon plans to open on Wednesday, October 16th.
