A talk by Val Bott on 18th and 19th century gardeners at Chiswick House
On Thursday 28th January at 7pm at St Nicholas Church, Church Street, W4 2PJ, there’s a talk by local historian Val Bott: 'Pleasure Gardens and Pineapple Stoves: Chiswick House gardeners 1700-1850'. Val is the chair of the William Hogarth Trust, and oversaw the renovations to the House. She is also involved in many local history organisations such as the Brentford & Chiswick Local History Society, and the Friends of Gunnersbury. She was honoured with an MBE in 2014 for her services to heritage. The event is organised by the Friends of St Nicholas Church with Chiswick House Friends.
