A traveller encampment was removed from Dukes Meadows this Thursday (6 September).

The travellers entered a car park adjacent to the Chiswick Boathouse and set up camp.

Hounslow Council issued an enforcement notice and visited the site .

It is understood there was flytipping on the site and that the area has since been cleared up.

Security guards were retained overnight to secure the area until a damaged gate could be repaired.

It is not known whether the group was linked to an encampment in Ealing which had been moved on recently.
