November production for Theatre West Four
Theatre West Four opens its 50th season with a Terence Rattigan Double Bill: ‘The Browning Version’ and ‘Harlequinade’. The production will run from Tuesday 12th to Saturday 16th November. Following their hugely successful run of COLE, including a sell out performance at the Bedford Park Festival, rehearsals are underway to kick off TW4’s golden anniversary year. Directors Peter Woods and Paul Smith have separate casts rehearsing side by side at the company’s rehearsal venue in the heart of Chiswick. Actors Mick Cawson and Christine Neyman in rehearsal Generally agreed as Rattigan’s best work and one that cemented his reputation as a serious playwright, 'The Browning Version' tells the story of the last days in the career of an ageing school master, Andrew Crocker-Harris, and his journey of self-realisation. In contrast, 'Harlequinade' is a satirical farce concerning a regional touring theatre company’s opening night of Romeo and Juliet and the personal complications and revelations that unfold. Since 1964 Theatre West Four has been staging amateur productions in West London. Members come from all over London to participate in readings, workshops, rehearsals and productions. The group welcomes enthusiasts interested in performing, directing, producing, stage management and all aspects of theatre production. To mark TW4’s Golden Anniversary, a celebratory programme of productions and events are planned for the 2013/14 season. Oliver Simpson and Stella Henney in rehearsal The Double Bill runs from Tuesday 12th to Saturday 16th November at The Studio, Questors Theatre, 12 Mattock Lane, W5 5BQ For tickets go to the website: http://www.questors.org.uk/event.aspx?id=432 Or telephone the box office: 020 8567 5184 To join Theatre West Four go to the website at http://www.theatrewestfour.co.uk
