Big Crowds on Turnham Green for Super Saturday Of Sport |
Clare Balding opens the event in glorious sunshine
The annual Chiswick Super Saturday of Sport was bathed in sunshine this Saturday, 8 July encouraging large crowds to turn up for the event. Once again television presenter and Chiswick resident Clare Balding officially started proceedings accompanied by her wife Alice Arnold. There were more than 40 sports to try at the free community event with something on offer for everyone. There was an opportunity to wander around the shopping village, buy some lunch or just chill out at one of the mindfulness workshops. Super Saturday of Sport is about helping people of all ages find their active passion. Whether you are looking for a traditional sport to try or a new hobby for the family. Kirsten Lonsdale, who set up the event five years ago, continues to need help in organising future Super Saturdays. She said; "We have something very special here in Chiswick and I hope we can build on the enthusiasm and local support to enable Super Saturday to be even bigger and better."
