Local schoolchildren record fundraising CD with seasonal songs
The children of St Peter’s CE Primary School are getting ready for the school’s first ever music CD, ready to be released in time for Christmas.
Over 200 children have been in rehearsal for the recording session at The British Grove Studios, with the CD ready to be released on 15th December.
The CD contains festive treats such as Let it Go from Disney's animated feature film Frozen, toe-tapping I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day by Wizzard and traditional Christmas carols, Silent Night and Away in a Manger.
The school also launched an art competition for pupils to design the final CD cover artwork.
This is the first of many fundraising activities for the school’s building project known as the Keystone Fund. All proceeds from the CD and future Keystone Fund activities will go towards the £295,000 necessary for much needed improvements within the school including new computers, a learning kitchen, dedicated art room, new school hall and redeveloping outside spaces.
“We are really delighted to launch this once in a lifetime project that not only will help towards the much needed efforts of developing the school buildings, but also see the community, children, parents and alumni come together in celebration of St Peter’s heritage going back as far as 1849,” says Mrs Jean Shipton, Headteacher at St Peter’s CE Primary School.
If you know a parent, grandparent or past pupil at St Peter’s CE Primary, you can pop a CD in their stocking this Christmas. The Keystone Fund will be taking pre-orders for this limited edition CD at these special prices.
