New pedestrian crossings being proposed for installation at the junction of Acton Lane and Southfield Road.

The new layout would have three zebra crossings, two on Acton Lane and one on Southfield Road, as well as two mini-roundabouts according to a Traffic Order issue by Ealing Council.

Each crossing would include a controlled area of between 25 and 30 metres in which over-taking and stopping would be prohibited, except to allow pedestrians to use the crossing.

The Order would also remove one parking bay from outside Numbers 273 and 275 Acton Lane in order to make space for zig-zag markings for the proposed crossing outside 273.

Enquiries about the proposal can be made by e-mail to Highwayservices@ealing.gov.uk or by telephoning the Ealing Council Project Engineer on 020 8825 5181.

The Order and other documents, including more detailed of the Orders and zebra crossings, are available by emailing Highway Services (see above). You can also inspect all the documents at Customer Services Reception, Perceval House, 14-16 Uxbridge Road W5 2HL between 9:00am and 4:45pm on Monday to Friday, until 6 weeks have elapsed from the date on which either the Order is made or the Council decides not to make the Order.

Any objections or other representations about the proposed Order or the zebra crossings should be sent in writing by e-mail, again to the Highway Services, or by post to the Highways Service, Perceval House, 14-16 Uxbridge Road W5 2HL, quoting reference ORD 3888/djc, until the 20th April 2015.

Ealing Council have proposed to make these changes under sections 45, 46, 49, 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the amended version of the Road Traffic Regulation Act of 1984.
