Sophie Ellis-Bextor Is Pregnant With Fifth Baby

Announces her news while on Radio Two promoting new album

Singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor has announced that she is pregnant with her fifth child.

The Chiswick-based pop star revealed the news while being interviewed on BBC Radio 2 to promote her latest album.

Discussing her new album The Song Diaries, she revealed it will be released at the same time as she is due to give birth. She told presenter Chris Evans; " The album will come out aroud the same time as my fifth infant because I'm having my fifth baby. Mental!"

Sophie has four sons with her husband, bass player Richard Foot, two of whom were born prematurely.

She has previously said that having children has helped her career, rather than hindered it. She believes it makes her a better performer, and a happier person.

Sophie has been the face of cosmetics brand Rimmel, as well as a busy mum, juggling the demands of her family, recording career, running club nights with her husband and touring in places ranging from Russia to Indonesia. She was also a leading contestant on Strictly Come Dancing.

She is the daughter of well-known actress and tv presenter, and author, Janet Ellis.
