New clothing range modelled by Chiswick singer on QVC sold out in minutes
Chiswick singer and fashionista Sophie Ellis-Bextor is no stranger to the dance floor, and now she shows off some moves in a new shoppable pop video for shopping channel QVC, which caused an internet sensation. In the video Sophie transforms into eight different looks that shoppers buy by clicking on each outfit and being taken through to the QVC website. After the video was aired, QVC said the C Wonder brand was a sell out in less than five minutes. The video was part of the launch of the new C. Wonder fashion collection curated by celebrity stylist Brad Goreski, exclusive to QVC, which has its headquarters in Chiswick Park. Sophie said;‘I really like the stylish and accessible nature of the C. Wonder collection at QVC. I have a passion for all things 60s and 70s inspired so it’s a perfect addition to my wardrobe.’ Three hero styles from the collection modelled by Sophie sold out in the premiere airing on Tuesday night (15 March), including the Boarder Print Trousers (£40), Carrie Print Blouse (£38) and Blazer with Printed Lining (£49.50). Sophie, who recently celebrated the birth of her fourth child, is back in the spotlight again. She started recording a new album in January and it is due to be released in August.
You can also see some behind the scenes snap from the shoot on Sophie’s instagram feed: Sophie, whose mother is former Blue Peter presenter Janet Ellis, married husband Richard in Italy in June 2005. The couple started dating in 2003. She has been the face of cosmetics brand Rimmel, as well as a busy mum, juggling the demands of her family, recording career, running club nights with her husband and touring in places ranging from Russia to Indonesia. She was also a leading contestant on Strictly Come Dancing. On the sellout, Nicholas Chalkey, Fashion Buying Director at QVC, commented, “We are extremely pleased with how the launch has gone and it’s a really exciting step forward for QVC UK fashion."
